Our yearly tradition of the Herongate Wood Summer concert is something we look forward to every year, rain or shine it is such a joy to get everybody together for a good cause whilst also enjoying live music, food and drinks and great company.

This year we were graced with no rain during the day, admittedly we all had our fingers crossed for nice whether but perhaps crossed a little too tight, as we had a blazer of a day, reaching a high of 29 degrees around midday. Fair to say that everyone was still able to enjoy themselves finding shade amongst the trees.
A massive thank you to the Essex Police Band, having live music throughout the day creates such a joyful atmosphere and really brings the whole day together, we appreciate your commitment every year, especially when the weather is not in your favour.
Each year our business owners bring in their own baked goods to sell in our service hall, with all donations going towards our charitable causes.
This year we had a selection of:

- Victoria Sponge
- Vanilla Dot Cake Pot
- Rich Chocolate Guinness Cake Pot
- Lemon Curd Cake Pot
- Carrot Cake
- Rocky Road
- Brownies
- Coffee & Walnut Cake
- Orange Loaf Cake
- Biscoff Cake
- Potato, Onion & Cheese Pastries

- Vegan and Gluten Free Sausage Rolls
- Chocolate Cake
- Cinnamon Rolls
- White Chocolate Peanut Butter Rocky Road
- Cranberry & Pecan Shortbread
- Chocolate Chip Cookies
We alternate our charities chosen each year, and this year we decided on St. Luke’s Hospice and South Essex Wildlife Hospital. Donations are collected through our food and drink sales and extra separate donations are always appreciated, everyone was extremely generous and we were able to raise £1,393.
Thank you to everyone who attended and our wonderful staff you helped make the day a special one. Here is to many more summer concerts in our future. We hope to see you all again next year.
