Our memorial concert is held every year in June.
It is a chance to remember and reflect on the life of your loved one at Herongate Wood. And spend some time in the natural beauty of Herongate wood and enjoying the music of the live band, having a picnic and having some baked goods from our bake sale.
We have had the Essex Police Brass Band play at the concert for the last 8 years, the concert has been held
We raise money for local charities every year. With 2022 and 2023 profits going to supporting the local hospices.
For the last two year the owners or Herongate Wood Cemetery have baked all the cakes and treats for the bake sale.
We send invites out a month or so before the concert date. But it is free for all to attend.
The First Summer Memorial concert was held in 2013 -the first year we had a jazz band play.
We used to hold a Christmas Memorial Concert with the first one held in 2007 we had the salvation army band play and we all sung Christmas carols. We then all went and decorated the cemetery Christmas tree with messages.
The weather made it a tough event to hold so we swapped to a summer concert.
