From a professional aspect as a Celebrant, I love working with the team here. Every time we’ve led a Funeral together, it’s done with warmth, compassion, perfection and attention to the smallest detail. A real privilege.

On arrival at Herongate Wood for our very first time, we were quite taken aback by how wonderfully peaceful and tranquil the place is, the view for miles, the wildlife and the lovely duck pond all adding to its beauty.
The service we received has been exceptional throughout.
Julie made us feel very at ease at such a terribly sad time, with her professionalism, lovely manner, her compassion and understanding.
We can’t thank you enough for the wonderful send off you helped us give my darling mum. I can actually look back upon the day with an affection of knowing how beautiful it was, and that’s something I never expected to feel.

It gave me a good feeling to have met with Herongate Wood and arranged my funeral in advance. I can now relax knowing that all of the arrangements and associated costs are taken care of, and that my loved ones will not have this burden to worry about. Thank you for looking after me and helping me to make the decisions that I have chosen. I shall be recommending you to my friends and family.

We went over to Herongate Wood Cemetery yesterday with my children and family to plant some plants under the tree we have for my husband Nigel who we lost a year ago. It is lovely and peaceful over there. Well looked after and staff are very helpful if you need them. We had the service held there last year through Adam and Greenwood funeral directors in Billericay. The staff were very helpful and caring would recommend them.

Michelle, who helped us through this sad time was kind, Caring and thoughtful, a true professional, Michelle’s professionalism meant so much to me and all my family, and all my family complimented Michelle and the Service saying how beautiful and Personal it was (being allowed to show photos of my mum on the walls was truely beautiful), it was very different to any cremation i had been too,
The surroundings are a beautiful resting place, and i would highly recommend.

We buried our daughter there ten years ago, and we received excellent service. Its a lovely place to visit, it was never too morbid to bring our other children to, and its fantastic to see how the wood is now becoming established.
My only gripe is that I think that the management should be stricter on the planting permitted on graves. Too many look like miniature gardens or shrines, which somewhat undermines the ethos of a green burial ground.
