Macmillan Coffee Morning 2026

Now our 3rd year running and after the success of last year, we had some pep in our step for this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning at Herongate wood. Coinciding this year with our regular monthly Gardening Group, and although unintentionally, the 2 events worked very well together, allowing the gardening group to have their much-deserved rest amongst a lot of new friendly face as well as a much larger selection of baked goods. As well as allowing those attending the Macmillan Coffee Morning to get a firsthand look at what goes on during the gardening sessions.

We always get a great turnout for our summer memorial concerts that we have been hosting for many years, so we still are a little apprehensive when it comes to our newer coffee mornings, but the turnout was exceptional this year, the support that everyone showed was amazing. It was wonderful to see everyone chatting away and enjoying all the food and drink. Not only that but we were joined by Morris Dancers courtesy of Horndon Morris, who gladly showed us a few moves to get us all involved.

Jackie, Sophie and Bella spent the days leading up to the event baking, setting up the hall and buying plants for our volunteer gardening group. This year’s bakes looked and tasted superb, including:

  • Potato & Cheese Pastries
  • Vegan Sausage Rolls
  • Marmite & Cheese Twists
  • Victoria Sponge
  • Coffee & Walnut Cake
  • Gluten Free Lemon Curd Cake
  • Guinness Chocolate Cake
  • Gluten Free Cherry Bakewell Cake
  • Vegan Biscoff Cake
  • Lemon & Blueberry Crumb Cake
  • Banana Bread
  • Vegan Apple Crumble & Custard Buns
  • Vegan Brownie Stuffed Cookies
  • Cranberry & Pecan Shortbread

A massive thank you for all the donations that were made towards Macmillan Cancer Support this year, and we were able to raise an incredible £700.

Thank you everyone for coming to this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning and we hope to see everyone again next year.
