Environment
- Rewild specific areas of Herongate every year. Restore ecosystems and reverse biodiversity declines by allowing wildlife and natural processes to reclaim areas no longer under human management.
- Continue creating habitats for the wildlife found in Herongate through the planting of native British trees, encouraging wildflowers to spread throughout the site and being sensitive to their needs.
- Seek out new ways to improve how we operate, becoming more eco-conscious with the goal to become carbon-neutral.
- Support eco-friendly businesses, charities and enterprises.
Longevity
- We have created a Trust to continue caring for Herongate Wood once it has reached maturity. A portion of every burial fee has been put aside for this trust.
- The woodland will become a living memory to all those laid to rest and their families.
- A grave will never be reused, so those laid to rest will never be disturbed.
Community
- Support small business suppliers whenever possible to reduce our carbon footprint and support local communities.
- Continue to support local charities.
- Keep supporting local emergency services
- Keep supporting local hospitals
- Keep expanding the Herongate community by hosting more community building events.
- Continue hosting the Herongate Volunteer Gardening Group, building friendships between bereaved people.
Services
- Improve the ease for visitors to find their loved ones plot
- Improve the cemeteries facilities
- Keep providing professional, excellent care for families during the funeral process and beyond.
